FAQs
Yes, we are in network with most health insurances offered in the state of Georgia. When you arrive in our office, please bring your insurance card. We will run a complimentary insurance benefits check on your behalf. This ensures we utilize the chiropractic benefits you are entitled to, and that you are completely aware of what services are covered before making any decisions on your treatment.
Your first appointment with us will take approximately 60-90 minutes, as we will be performing a detailed assessment of your health to accurately diagnose your condition and determine how to best serve you. Future visits will be between 15-20 minutes.
We typically do not administer treatment on the first visit as this visit is used to collect all your health data, including the necessary paperwork, examination, and diagnostic testing. At Evolve Chiropractic, Dr. Gage is committed to delivering the highest quality of care to his patients. In doing so, we need adequate time to review your findings before making decisions about how to proceed with care. In some cases, Dr. Gage will proceed with acute treatment protocols on the first visit, particularly for patients with extreme levels of pain.
Chiropractic care is a form of health care based on the interrelationship of the spine and nervous system, as well as the surrounding muscles and ligaments.
Yes. Though Doctors of Chiropractic are not medical doctors, they attend a similar rigorous education process and must pass a four-part board examination to be fully licensed. In addition, chiropractors are required to complete continuing education hours and must be board certified to practice in their state.
Chiropractors are highly proficient in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal disorders involving the muscles, ligaments, and joints. At Evolve Chiropractic in Woodstock, we specialize in treating the ailments of spinal ligament injuries, as these typically affect all aspects of the musculoskeletal system. The benefits of regular chiropractic care go far beyond this, as improving the spine and nervous system can have dramatic effects on one’s overall health.
A spinal ligament injury is caused by damage to one or more of the spinal support ligaments. The spine has 220 specialized ligaments, which offer stabilization and aid in its functionality. These ligaments can become impaired from an acute injury (such as a sports injury, car accident, work injury, or home injury), a simple slip or fall, past injuries that never fully healed, or long-term changes to our biomechanics and posture. We assist in the recovery from these injuries through specific chiropractic adjustments, postural corrections, and top rehabilitative techniques.
A chiropractic adjustment is the art of administering a highly specific, controlled force in a precise line of correction that is applied to a spinal segment. The purpose of this procedure is to improve the structure and function of the human body.
Chiropractic adjustments are safe, effective, and rarely cause pain or discomfort. This is because adjustments, when delivered correctly, use minimal force and gentle pressure. In fact, most patients feel immediate relief after a single adjustment.
The “crack” or “popping” noises you hear when an adjustment is made are simply pockets of air being released from the joints. This is completely normal and typically occurs on most adjustments. In some cases, a popping sound is not heard, and that’s completely okay, too. Your chiropractor is focused on the true correction being made, not the sound it makes.
Though most of our patients experience immediate relief at the onset of care, each individual responds differently, as each patient’s symptomatology is unique to them. Our goal is to improve our patients’ symptoms as soon as possible, but our biggest concern is to ensure their injury is fully healed and they have achieved a full recovery. We formulate the number of visits required for each patient based on evidence-based protocols and established healthcare guidelines to uphold our high standard of clinical excellence.
